Dolphin Supplies Cooling Loop Exchangers for Research Reactor Facility
A research reactor facility required replacement exchangers for its secondary cooling loop, where documentation and traceability requirements carry the same rigor as a power reactor programme despite the facility's smaller scale — the regulatory audit standard does not relax simply because the plant is a research unit rather than a commercial power station.
Dolphin supplied the secondary loop exchangers under the same nuclear-grade quality assurance programme developed for prior balance-of-plant work, with every weld, heat number and NDT result indexed and cross-referenced rather than filed as a flat document set — a structure that lets a single component's full history be retrieved without searching the entire project record.
Qualified welding and NDT personnel worked only within their current, programme-specific certification scope, with certification currency checked against the facility's own audit calendar before each work package began rather than assumed valid from a prior contract.
The exchangers were delivered with a complete nuclear-grade documentation package, giving the facility's operating licence holder an audit-ready record from raw material certificate through to final acceptance test.
