How a radiators works

How It Works

A radiator rejects engine or system heat to air: coolant flows through finned tubes while air is driven across them by fan or vehicle motion.

  1. 1

Hot coolant from the engine enters the top or side tank and distributes into the core tubes.

  2. 2

Fin surfaces bonded to the tubes multiply the air-side area.

  3. 3

Fan or ram air carries heat away; coolant returns to the engine cooled.

  4. 4

Core geometry — rows, fin density, tube type — is matched to heat load and the dust/ambient environment.

Built to
Solve

Engineered against the specific failures that cost operators downtime, contamination or wasted energy.

Asset protection

An overheating engine is minutes from major damage — radiator capacity is the margin between a hot day and a seized engine, and that margin shrinks every season the core goes uninspected.

Process integrity

Generator and plant cooling designed for European ambients fails in Gulf summers exactly when load peaks — the OEM's home-market design temperature and the Gulf's actual ambient are rarely the same number.

Operational efficiency

Waiting weeks for an imported OEM radiator idles machines a local re-core returns to work in days, at a fraction of the freight and lead-time cost of a replacement unit.

Why Dolphin Group for
Radiators

Built for this climate

Every core is rated for real Gulf summer ambients — not European catalogue conditions.

Speed of local manufacture

Re-cores and repairs in days from Mussafah keep fleets and generators earning.

Engineering-backed uprating

Heat exchange engineering — not guesswork — behind every capacity upgrade.

Key
Benefits

What sets radiators from Dolphin Group apart, in specific and measurable terms.

  • 1

    Custom-built cores

Custom cores built to original dimensions — including obsolete models no longer supported by the OEM.

  • 2

    Days, not weeks

Re-core turnaround in days versus weeks for OEM imports, keeping equipment off the sidelines.

  • 3

    Uprated for Gulf duty

Uprated cores engineered for Gulf ambient and heavy duty cycles, not a temperate-climate default.

  • 4

    Material flexibility

Copper-brass and aluminium construction capability, matched to the application's duty and budget.

  • 5

    Every unit verified

Pressure testing and flow verification on every unit before it leaves the workshop.

  • 6

    Fleet programmes

Fleet programmes that cut cooling-system downtime across an entire equipment population.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes — we reverse-engineer tanks, frames and cores from the existing unit and rebuild to original or uprated capacity.

Typically 3–7 days depending on core availability, versus weeks for OEM imports.

Copper-brass for repairability and harsh duty; aluminium for weight and cost on lighter applications.

Yes — extra rows, higher fin density or larger cores are engineered to raise capacity within your envelope.

Yes — genset radiators from small standby units to multi-megawatt packages are core business.

Every radiator is pressure tested; flow verification is available on request.

Yes — scheduled radiator service programmes with exchange stock keep fleets moving.
